Artist's Statement

​

A work of art should lead you to a place you've never been before, a place of discovery, a place that defines a state of mind by stretching the imagination.

The artist is a shaman, a medium, through which spirituality manifests itself in the form of creative expression.   In this way, an artist imbues works of art with a universal soul regardless of subject matter, venue or materials used. This is what makes art crucially important to every culture; it is this tangible form  of interpreting the past, recording the present and imagining the future. It is a contribution to all civilization.  As a record keeper and storyteller, the artist has the opportunity to highlight the important elements of our culture and to influence, even direct, the social climate.
